Acme Solar Q1 Profit Jumps 80% to ₹235 Crore; BESS Capacity Expands

Acme Solar Holdings reported a 79.9% year-on-year rise in Q1 FY27 profit to ₹235 crore as revenue climbed 63.3% to ₹954 crore. The growth was led by higher solar power generation and the commissioning of new battery energy storage systems. The company now plans to commission over 10 GWh of battery storage capacity by the end of the fiscal year.

Acme Solar Holdings reported its strongest quarterly results to date for the period ending June 2026. The company’s consolidated profit after tax rose to ₹235 crore, a significant increase from the ₹131 crore reported in the same quarter last year. This growth was supported by a 63.3% surge in total revenue, which reached ₹954 crore.

Operational Growth and Battery Storage

The company’s performance benefited from favorable solar irradiation levels and improved efficiency across its power plants. A key driver for the revenue increase was the expansion of its battery energy storage systems. Acme Solar commissioned approximately 2.3 GWh of new battery capacity during the quarter, bringing its total operational battery storage capacity to 3.62 GWh. This segment alone contributed ₹226 crore in revenue during the three-month period.

While the company saw robust revenue growth, its operating profit margin stood at 87.1%, down from 90.9% a year ago. The company attributed this change to the inclusion of power purchase costs associated with its newer battery storage operations. Despite this, the overall profit margin improved to 24.7% compared to 22.4% in the previous year.

Future Project Pipeline

Acme Solar is focused on scaling its renewable energy footprint. It has signed power purchase agreements with the Solar Energy Corporation of India for 600 MW of hybrid and firm dispatchable renewable energy projects. With these additions, the company’s total portfolio of projects that are either under construction or have signed agreements stands at 3,880 MW. Following the recent performance, the company has raised its target for battery storage, aiming to reach a cumulative capacity of over 10 GWh by the end of FY27.

In the stock market, shares of Acme Solar closed at ₹366, marking a 2.95% increase on the National Stock Exchange. The company has also secured short-term contracts for the sale of its battery storage capacity, which management noted provides a revenue lock-in of more than ₹1,400 crore for the fiscal year. Investors may track the speed at which the company executes its remaining 10 GWh battery capacity target and whether it can maintain its current profit margins as it integrates these new projects into its portfolio.
