Detailed Coverage :

GoodWorks Group has officially begun work on the GoodWorks Aerospace Park, its first company-owned technology park, situated in the Hitech, Defence and Aerospace Industrial Park in Devanahalli, Bengaluru. This ambitious project spans 3,00,000 square feet and is designed as a sustainable, LEED-certified, zero-carbon campus. It aims to cater specifically to Global Capability Centres (GCCs), established enterprises, and rapidly growing industries such as aerospace, technology, defence, and research.

Strategically located near Kempegowda International Airport, the park offers excellent connectivity for international businesses looking to establish or expand their operations in India. The premium workspace campus is being developed with advanced energy and water efficiency systems, emphasizing a zero net carbon footprint. It is tailored for GCCs and enterprises requiring secure, forward-looking infrastructure.

According to GoodWorks Group co-founder Vishwas Mudagal, the project signifies their commitment to building sustainable campuses that will drive India's GCC growth. He highlighted that as a bootstrapped, debt-free, and profitable company, this milestone underscores their dedication to shaping the future of work in India.

Sonia Sharma, another co-founder, stated that the aerospace park represents a significant step forward, creating their own sustainable campus and setting new standards in workspace design, sustainability, and community building for global clients.

Impact: This development is likely to positively impact the Indian real estate sector, particularly in the commercial and industrial space. It signals confidence in India as a hub for global capability centres and advanced industries, potentially attracting more foreign direct investment and creating job opportunities in Bengaluru. The focus on sustainability aligns with global trends and could encourage similar developments. Rating: 7/10.

Difficult Terms: Global Capability Centres (GCCs): These are offshore units set up by multinational corporations to serve global operations, often handling functions like IT, R&D, operations, and customer support. LEED-certified: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is a green building rating system that provides a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. Zero-carbon campus: A campus designed to produce no net greenhouse gas emissions. This is achieved through energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and offsetting any remaining emissions.
