Suraksha Group to Spend ₹3,000 Cr to Finish Jaypee Infratech Projects by 2028

Suraksha Group has pledged an additional ₹3,000 crore to complete all remaining Jaypee Infratech residential projects by September 2028. Since taking control in 2024, the developer has already handed over 84 towers to homebuyers. The company, which is now delisted, also announced plans for three new townships along the Yamuna Expressway.

Suraksha Group has committed a fresh investment of ₹3,000 crore to complete all pending residential projects under Jaypee Infratech Limited. The company has set a firm deadline of September 2028 to hand over all remaining housing units, marking a major step in the resolution of the once-bankrupt developer.

Since taking over control of Jaypee Infratech in June 2024, the Suraksha Group has been working to clear the massive backlog of homes. The developer has already completed 84 towers, delivering 7,913 units to homebuyers. This progress is part of a larger plan to stabilize operations and restore confidence among thousands of customers who faced years of delays.

To fund the construction of the remaining units, the company is relying on a combination of internal resources. This includes consistent income from toll operations on the Yamuna Expressway, which generates stable cash flow. Additionally, the company plans to sell its existing unsold inventory, estimated to be worth around ₹2,500 crore, and collect outstanding payments from customers. These sources are expected to provide the necessary liquidity to keep construction moving without external funding pressure.

Moving beyond the completion of legacy projects, Suraksha Group is also pivoting toward growth. The company has announced plans to launch three new townships spanning over 450 acres along the Yamuna Expressway. This development plan will include two residential projects and one industrial township, signaling a shift from crisis management to active development.

It is important for stakeholders to note that Jaypee Infratech is no longer a publicly traded company. Its shares were voluntarily delisted from the NSE and BSE in February 2025 as part of the NCLT-approved resolution process. As such, the focus for the company remains on operational execution rather than stock market performance.

While the roadmap for completion is clear, there are inherent risks in large-scale real estate development. The project execution timeline could be impacted by external factors, including periodic construction bans imposed by the National Green Tribunal during high air pollution periods in the National Capital Region. Additionally, the company must effectively manage cash flows, as any underperformance in toll revenue or delays in selling unsold inventory could pressure its ability to fund construction. The primary monitorable for stakeholders will be the pace of construction milestones over the next two years to ensure the September 2028 deadline is met.
