Strategic Investment in Building Resilience
Realty firm Signature Global announced Saturday a significant investment of ₹380 crore aimed at integrating advanced earthquake resistance technology into its residential developments. This forward-thinking initiative focuses on enhancing structural safety and occupant comfort in high-rise buildings across the country.
Partnership for Advanced Construction
The substantial investment is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indo-Italian Joint Venture CECO Hirun Pvt Ltd. The core of this collaboration lies in the implementation of specialized 'Hysteretic Tuned Mass Dampers' (HTMDs), a cutting-edge system designed to mitigate vibrations.
These HTMDs are engineered to significantly reduce building movement caused by wind forces and seismic activity. By controlling vibrations, the technology is set to boost structural stability and improve the overall comfort for residents in tall structures.
Enhancing Safety in Seismic Zones
Signature Global plans to deploy this technology across approximately 80 to 100 of its high-rise residential towers. The scope of the MoU is flexible and can be expanded according to the company's evolving project requirements.
Lalit Aggarwal, Co-Founder & Vice Chairman of Signature Global, emphasized the increasing responsibility to ensure resident safety and long-term value as Indian cities grow vertically. He highlighted the synergy of combining global expertise with local construction practices to implement robust, integrated building systems.
Critical Application in Delhi-NCR
The company specifically noted the importance of these advanced vibration control solutions in seismic-prone regions, such as Delhi-NCR, which is classified under Seismic Zone IV. Integrating such technology early in the design phase is considered crucial for ensuring sustained safety and structural integrity.
Agostino Marioni, Chairman of CECO Hirun India Pvt Ltd, affirmed the partnership's commitment to engineering excellence and innovation. He stated that the initiative sets new benchmarks for resilient and future-ready infrastructure development in India.
