The major investment is for developing new hotel projects and upgrading existing facilities across Karnataka. The company sees the state as ready for growth in experiential tourism.
This expansion comes as Brigade Hotel Ventures celebrates the 10th anniversary of its Grand Mercure Mysuru hotel, its key property. The investment aims to take advantage of Mysuru's growth as a business and heritage center, moving beyond its weekend destination status, said Managing Director Nirupa Shankar.
Drivers of the Expansion Plan
Brigade Hotel Ventures' (BHVL) "Vision 2031" plan includes adding about 1,700 hotel rooms nationwide with a total investment of ₹3,600 crore. The Karnataka investment is a key part of this growth plan. The company will focus on sustainability, community ties, and meeting demand for personalized and wellness travel.
Mysuru's Market Potential
The company expects Mysuru's hotel market to grow by 8-10 percent annually. This is driven by more domestic and international visitors. Director Vineet Verma noted Mysuru's importance for developing a skilled workforce and reliable suppliers, which will support future projects across South India.
