Property consultant Anarock has acquired a 51% controlling stake in DSP Design Associates for Rs 250 crore. This acquisition aims to integrate architecture and interior design services into Anarock’s project management offerings. The deal provides Anarock with access to a large portfolio of commercial and residential projects, marking a trend of consolidation among professional service firms in the Indian real estate sector.
Anarock Group has announced the acquisition of a 51% controlling interest in DSP Design Associates for Rs 250 crore. This transaction marks a shift by the real estate consultancy to move beyond its core advisory and project management services by adding full-service design and architectural capabilities. The business logic centers on providing a combined service model for property developers. By integrating DSP Design’s expertise, Anarock aims to offer end-to-end solutions, from master planning to project delivery.
Anuj Puri, chairman of Anarock, indicated that this partnership is a strategic step to scale services within the Indian real estate market. DSP Design Associates, led by co-founder Bimal Desai, will continue to operate under its existing leadership structure. This approach is common in services acquisitions to ensure operational continuity and maintain established client relationships. DSP operates in major cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad. The firm currently manages a portfolio of over 125 million square feet of active projects, which includes large-scale commercial IT parks, mixed-use properties, and hospitality assets.
For the broader real estate industry, this acquisition highlights a trend of consolidation among professional service providers. As developers focus on faster delivery and cost efficiency, they are increasingly preferring consultants who can manage the entire project lifecycle. DSP’s client list includes names such as Tata Realty, Adani Realty, L&T Realty, and Emaar. Additionally, its interior design vertical serves approximately 50 Fortune 500 companies.
While this acquisition strengthens Anarock’s footprint, the primary factor to watch will be the success of the integration process, specifically how the two firms align their service delivery and talent retention strategies. As with any acquisition in the services sector, the final financial benefit will depend on how well the firms combine their operations and maintain the quality of service for their existing high-profile client base.
