Anant Raj Shares Gain As Demerger Plan Progresses

Anant Raj Limited shares are seeing active trading as the company moves forward with plans to demerge its data center and cloud services division into a new entity. This follows a strong first-quarter performance where the company reported a nearly 19% jump in net profit.

Anant Raj Limited shares witnessed increased buyer interest during Thursday’s trading session, following market focus on the company's strategic restructuring and recent financial performance. The interest comes as the real estate developer progresses with its plan to separate its data center and cloud services business into a new, standalone entity.

The board of directors approved a Composite Scheme of Arrangement in July 2026. This plan involves demerging the digital infrastructure unit—currently being developed under the brand Ashok Cloud—into a separate company named Ashok Cloud Private Limited. The company aims to unlock value by creating a dedicated platform for its growing data center business. Shareholders are expected to receive shares in the new entity, subject to the final scheme details.

Financial performance has acted as a supporting factor for investor sentiment. In the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, which ended in June 2026, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹150 crore. This marks a year-on-year growth of approximately 18.9%, supported by a revenue increase of 6.6%. The company has been shifting its strategy toward building digital infrastructure, with a stated long-term goal of achieving an IT load capacity of 307 megawatts by fiscal year 2032.

While the market has reacted to these strategic updates, there are several monitorables for investors. The demerger is not yet complete and remains subject to various regulatory and statutory clearances, including approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal, SEBI, and stock exchanges. Any delay in these processes could impact the timeline for the corporate restructuring.

Furthermore, the company operates in both the real estate and digital infrastructure sectors, both of which carry specific risks. Real estate development is sensitive to interest rate changes and market demand, while the data center business involves significant capital spending and execution risk. Investors will likely continue to track the progress of the regulatory approvals for the demerger and the company's ability to execute its large-scale capacity expansion projects in the coming quarters.
