Welspun Enterprises Cuts FY27 Revenue Outlook to 10-20%

Welspun Enterprises has lowered its revenue growth forecast for fiscal year 2027 to 10-20% due to global supply chain disruptions. This follows a challenging first quarter where the firm's consolidated profit declined by 44% year-on-year. Investors are now monitoring how the company manages project execution and labor availability to meet its revised targets.

Welspun Enterprises has lowered its revenue growth target for the financial year 2027, citing global supply chain disruptions. The infrastructure firm now expects its revenue to grow between 10% and 20%, a reduction from its earlier projection of 15-20%. This downward revision follows a difficult start to the financial year, with the company reporting a decline in both revenue and profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Challenging First Quarter Performance

The company’s latest financial results highlight the pressure it is facing. Consolidated revenue dropped by 8.44% to ₹773.72 crore, while net profit fell significantly by 44% to ₹56.36 crore compared to the same period last year. Management pointed to a mix of temporary factors, including supply chain hurdles linked to global tensions, a temporary construction ban in Mumbai, and labor shortages following state elections. Additionally, the company recorded a loss of ₹34.10 crore from discontinued operations, which added to the pressure on the final profit figure.

Order Book and Operational Margins

Despite the immediate quarterly challenges, the company’s core operational health shows some resilience. Welspun Enterprises reported a healthy EBITDA margin—a measure of profitability from its core business operations—of 22.9%. Furthermore, the firm maintains a robust consolidated order book of ₹18,729 crore, which provides visibility for future work. The company is also addressing its receivables, including those linked to the Jal Jeevan Mission, with expectations that collections will improve throughout the financial year. To support future funding requirements, the company has also secured an enabling resolution, with promoters already injecting ₹250 crore into the firm through warrant issues.

What Investors Should Monitor

Moving forward, the key factor for investors will be how effectively the company manages project execution timelines. With supply chain and labor issues identified as the primary reasons for the recent guidance cut, the ability to overcome these barriers will determine whether the company can successfully meet its revised 10-20% growth target. Market observers will also track the pace of order inflows, which are expected to reach between ₹8,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore in FY27, to see if the company can maintain its momentum despite the current macro hurdles.
