Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited reported a net loss of ₹59.20 crore for the September quarter, showing improvement from last year's figures. While revenue and margins grew, the company faces continued pressure from high finance costs. Investors may monitor how the management handles this debt burden alongside these operational gains.
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) reported a net loss of ₹59.20 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2026, marking a sharp recovery compared to the ₹320.82 crore loss reported in the same period last year. Shares of the company rose 9.26 percent to ₹35.03 following the announcement, with trading volumes exceeding 9.16 million shares.
Revenue from operations rose by 8.2 percent year-on-year to ₹309.65 crore. Operational performance was a highlight of the results, with EBITDA reaching ₹164.61 crore against ₹139.77 crore in the previous year. This reflects an improvement in operating margins, which stood at 41.73 percent for the quarter, compared to 35.10 percent in the year-ago period.
Despite these operational gains, the company continues to face high finance costs. The cost of servicing debt remained significant at ₹191.49 crore, which continues to be a primary hurdle in reaching profitability. While the net loss for the first half of the fiscal year has narrowed to ₹131.35 crore—a significant improvement from the ₹645.80 crore loss in the same six-month window last year—the ongoing impact of interest payments on the company's bottom line remains a key area for investors to follow.
The company also announced leadership changes alongside the financial results. Gaurav Gupta, a veteran of Tata Sons with experience in finance and mergers and acquisitions, has been appointed as an Additional Director. Additionally, Sweety Mamodia is set to join as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer effective November 1, 2026. The company also designated Sai Pratyush and Vaibhav Ambradkar as part of its senior management team, indicating a shift in the organizational structure.
Long-term stock performance remains under pressure. TTML shares are currently trading about 37 percent lower than their value a year ago and remain well below the 52-week high of ₹58.25 reached in November 2025. Moving forward, the key monitorable for shareholders will be whether the company can sustain its current margin improvements and effectively reduce its debt burden to achieve consistent profitability.
