Sunshine Pictures IPO Subscribed 106x; Shankesh Jewellers Sees 2.8x Demand

The IPOs for Sunshine Pictures and Shankesh Jewellers closed on August 20, 2026, with contrasting investor interest. Sunshine Pictures was subscribed 105.81 times, while Shankesh Jewellers saw a modest 2.80 times subscription. Both stocks are scheduled to debut on the NSE and BSE on August 25, 2026.

Sunshine Pictures and Shankesh Jewellers concluded their public issues on August 20, 2026, drawing a widely varied response from market participants. Investors showed strong interest in the Sunshine Pictures IPO, which was subscribed 105.81 times by the close of the bidding period. In contrast, Shankesh Jewellers saw a more cautious reception with an overall subscription of 2.80 times.

Sunshine Pictures saw robust participation across all categories. The Non-Institutional Investor (NII) category led the demand with a subscription of 197 times their allocated portion. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) subscribed 123.52 times, and retail investors participated 56.60 times. The company, promoted by Vipul Shah and Shefali Shah, raised funds through a ₹282.14 crore issue. The net proceeds are primarily earmarked for meeting working capital requirements and general corporate purposes. Investors may note that the company’s business model carries risks tied to customer concentration and the unpredictable nature of project-based revenue streams.

Shankesh Jewellers, a B2B player specializing in handcrafted gold jewelry, saw its ₹367.18 crore issue subscribed 2.80 times. The NII portion was subscribed 5.68 times, retail investors 2.42 times, and QIBs 1.32 times. A significant portion of the funds raised is intended for the repayment or pre-payment of debt, which helps lower the company's financial obligations. However, investors should be aware of the business risks associated with this sector, including high sensitivity to gold price volatility and operational dependencies inherent in its asset-light, outsourcing-based model. Additionally, the business is susceptible to seasonal demand fluctuations common in the jewelry industry.

Both companies are set to list their shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on August 25, 2026. The listing day performance will depend on the final demand-supply balance and broader market sentiment prevailing on that date. Investors who were allotted shares will be looking to see if the subscription demand translates into listing day gains or volatility.
