Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust is selling a 1.7% stake in Lenskart for roughly Rs 2,047 crore. The shares are priced at Rs 682.45 each, offering a 3.5% discount. This sale follows Lenskart’s strong Q1 FY27 results, where the company reported a net profit of Rs 222 crore and revenue growth of over 43%.
Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust has initiated a block deal to sell a 1.7% equity stake in Lenskart Solutions. The transaction is valued at approximately Rs 2,047 crore. The deal is priced at Rs 682.45 per share, representing a 3.5% discount to the company’s recent valuation benchmark. Institutional buyers participating in this block deal will face a 90-day lock-up period, which restricts them from selling these specific shares immediately after the purchase.
This divestment comes after a period of robust financial growth for Lenskart. In the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, the company reported a net profit of Rs 222 crore, a significant increase from Rs 60 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. Revenue also recorded strong growth, rising 43.3% year-on-year to reach Rs 2,714.2 crore. The company has focused on improving operational efficiency, with consolidated product margins exceeding 70% for the first time, reaching 70.3%. Additionally, EBITDA for the quarter rose by 75.1% to Rs 588.5 crore.
Investors should note that Lenskart is currently a private, unlisted company in India. This transaction involves a secondary sale of shares between institutional investors rather than a public offering that retail traders can access on the stock exchanges. While the financial performance shows strong growth and margin expansion, the lack of public trading availability means individual investors cannot directly participate in such transactions. The company’s ability to sustain these high margins while funding heavy capital expenditures in its store networks and manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad will be a key factor for the firm's long-term value.
