Mumbai Court Extends Custody Of Three Suspects In Tiger Shroff Firing Case

A Mumbai court has remanded three individuals to police custody until October 28 regarding the October 18 shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle. Authorities arrested the suspects in Haryana, alleging their involvement in logistical planning and weapons procurement for the attack, which has been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

A Mumbai court has granted police custody until October 28 for three men arrested in connection with the shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s car on October 18. The arrests were made in Sonipat, Haryana, as investigators look to uncover the broader network behind the attack, which resulted in injuries to the actor’s driver and a fan.

Prosecutors presented arguments to the court detailing the specific roles allegedly played by the three suspects—identified as Sameer, Jatin, and Ankit Khatak. According to the police, the group acted as the operational backbone for the shooting. Investigators allege that Ankit Khatak conducted reconnaissance in Mumbai, Jatin Panchal sourced the firearms, and Sameer maintained contact with other organizers. The police argued that while the suspects were not the shooters at the scene, their logistical support was essential to the execution of the crime.

The investigation has gained significant attention due to the suspects' alleged links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This group has claimed responsibility for the incident and is reportedly connected to ongoing threats directed at other prominent figures in the Indian entertainment industry, including actor Salman Khan. Because of this connection, authorities are focusing on identifying the wider conspiracy and locating additional individuals who remain at large.

To build their case, the police presented evidence including CCTV footage and hotel records to the court. Investigators also highlighted a location in Aarey Colony where the suspects allegedly performed a live-fire drill on October 17, just one day before the assault. The prosecution stated that this forensic evidence is critical for establishing a timeline of the planning phase.

During the hearing, the defense counsel challenged the request for extended custody. The defense argued that none of the three accused were physically present at the location of the shooting and questioned the necessity of prolonged questioning following their transfer from Haryana. Despite these arguments, the court ruled in favor of the police, allowing for further interrogation to ensure the investigation into the criminal network continues. The next legal steps will depend on the findings recovered during this period of custody.
