Shares of Kwality Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharmalabs, and Universal Cables rallied 20% to hit upper circuits on Monday following robust quarterly results and upgraded growth guidance. Investors reacted positively to strong earnings growth and expansion plans, though large capital spending projects and raw material price pressures remain important factors to track.
Three Indian companies—Kwality Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharmalabs, and Universal Cables—saw their share prices jump 20% on Monday, hitting upper circuits on the BSE. This sharp movement was driven by a combination of strong first-quarter financial results and optimistic growth outlooks for the remainder of the year.
Kwality Pharmaceuticals saw its stock climb after the company revised its financial targets for the 2026-27 fiscal year. It now expects revenue to exceed ₹700 crore, up from previous estimates, and has raised its profit after tax guidance to more than ₹109 crore. The company attributes this confidence to steady execution in its specialty pharmaceuticals segment, which focuses on complex formulations, injectables, and biosimilars like Erythropoietin.
Aarti Pharmalabs also saw investor interest following a strong Q1 FY27 performance. The company reported consolidated revenue of ₹536 crore, a 39% increase compared to the previous year, and a net profit of ₹76.14 crore, which is a 65% jump year-on-year. While the company faced a temporary shutdown at its Unit 4 facility earlier this year for maintenance, the resulting capacity increase and a long-term goal of 15-18% revenue growth are currently drawing market attention.
Universal Cables recorded significant growth, with standalone Q1 FY27 revenue rising 57.5% to ₹945.06 crore and profit surging 90.7% to ₹37.18 crore. This performance was supported by a strong order book of approximately ₹2,860 crore as of July 1, 2026. The company’s growth plan is substantial, with the board approving a capital expenditure of ₹617 crore for power cable capacity and an additional project valued at nearly $500 million through a joint venture to expand into optical fibre.
While these announcements have boosted investor sentiment, there are business risks to keep in mind. Large capital expenditure projects, particularly Universal Cables' ambitious expansion, carry execution risks where delays or cost increases can impact future cash flow. Furthermore, companies in both the pharmaceutical and industrial cable sectors are navigating challenges related to volatile raw material prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions that can disrupt supply chains. Investors tracking these stocks may want to watch for updates on project commissioning timelines and the ability of these companies to maintain profit margins amid fluctuating material costs.
