Two individuals, including the broker, have been detained for questioning to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Investigations revealed that the suspect had placed a bag in a ground-floor room shortly before the blast occurred.
Involvement of National Investigation Agency
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken suo motu cognisance of the explosion and has sent a team to inspect the site. The agency is currently gathering evidence and speaking with local residents to assess the nature of the blast. A preliminary report is expected to be submitted to the Union Home Ministry. This report will serve as the basis for a decision on whether the NIA will formally take over the case from state authorities.
Evidence Recovered from Blast Site
During the search of the property, the CID and bomb disposal teams recovered two live crude bombs and remnants of several others. Investigators also found raw materials at the site that are suspected to be used in the manufacturing of crude explosives. While the investigation remains ongoing, the recovery of these materials is a central focus for security agencies as they work to identify the source of the explosives and the motives behind the incident. The primary next steps for authorities will include analyzing the CCTV footage, tracking the prime suspect, and concluding the NIA’s preliminary assessment to determine the scope of the legal proceedings.
