The operation, executed on August 12, 2026, covered 14 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand. Authorities utilized a real-time intelligence-sharing system to conduct these simultaneous raids. The network's infrastructure was reportedly targeted to prevent planned subversive activities, which included potential attacks on sensitive locations such as police stations and defense installations.
During the raids, security forces recovered a significant cache of weaponry and espionage equipment. Legal proceedings have commenced across the country, with over 80 First Information Reports (FIRs) filed under various stringent laws, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The NIA is specifically looking into past incidents, including a March 2025 grenade attack in Jalandhar and explosions at police stations in Sirsa and Ambala, Haryana, during late 2025 and early 2026.
