IIM Bangalore Sees 100% Summer Placements With ₹2 Lakh Median Stipend

IIM Bangalore has achieved 100% placement for its 2026-28 batch of 608 students, securing offers from 128 companies. Consulting firms led the recruitment drive, accounting for over half of all offers, while the median monthly stipend reached ₹2 lakh. This result highlights continued demand for top-tier management talent, with 40% of participating recruiters joining the campus for the first time.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has completed its summer recruitment cycle for the 2026-28 cohort, securing job offers for all 608 students. Held between October 26 and 29, 2026, the process saw participation from 128 companies, reflecting strong corporate interest in high-caliber management graduates. The placement drive concluded with a median monthly stipend of ₹2 lakh and an average of ₹1.95 lakh.

Consulting firms remained the largest recruiters during the drive, accounting for 50.7% of all offers. In total, 308 positions were filled by 22 consulting firms. Accenture Strategy was the most active participant, extending 123 offers to students. Other significant contributors in the consulting domain included Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and EY Global Delivery Services, which collectively added to the sector's volume.

Financial services provided a stable pillar for the recruitment season, with 33 organizations hiring 74 students. Prominent names in this space, such as Goldman Sachs and American Express, continued their engagement with the institute. While the global technology sector has faced hiring corrections in recent months, it maintained a presence at IIMB, securing 51 offers. Companies such as Microsoft and Albertsons Companies were notable recruiters in this category, each extending six offers.

A significant feature of this year's drive was the participation of first-time recruiters, who made up nearly 40% of the total participating firms. This diversification suggests that the institute is successfully expanding its base of hiring partners. Beyond the core consulting and finance roles, the recruitment pool was broad, featuring participation from sectors such as FMCG, manufacturing, infrastructure, and retail, with companies like Procter & Gamble and ITC returning for the cycle.

The successful completion of the drive within a 48-hour window highlights the intensity of the recruitment process. For investors and industry observers, these placement outcomes often serve as a barometer for corporate confidence, suggesting that firms are willing to commit to high-end talent despite ongoing economic volatility. Moving forward, the key monitorable for the next recruitment cycle will be the continued ability of the institute to maintain this diversity of recruiters and sustain stipend levels across sectors.
