Delhi University is currently managing the final stages of its undergraduate admission process for the 2026-27 academic year. With 1.9 lakh registrations recorded through the Common Seat Allocation System, the university is preparing to fill 71,624 seats spread across 73 programs and 69 colleges. The high volume of applications highlights the sustained demand for undergraduate education within the central university system.
Application Progress and Correction Window
Out of the total registered applicants, 1,64,098 candidates have completed the critical step of filling in their specific program and college preferences. To minimize errors in the final selection, the university has opened a correction window that remains accessible until 11:59 PM this Saturday. This period allows students to update their details, which is a vital step as the system will automatically lock all preferences once the deadline passes.
Seat Allocation and Financial Management
The university has moved to streamline its financial operations by introducing a virtual wallet for fee payments. This system is designed to automatically adjust fee differences for students who may be upgraded to different colleges or programs in subsequent allocation rounds, reducing the need for manual refunds or additional payments. The first list of seat allocations is scheduled to be published on July 16. Once the list is live, students will have the choice to accept their offer, pay the required fees, or opt for an upgrade to a higher-preference course in later rounds.
Broader Admissions Context
Beyond undergraduate admissions, the university is simultaneously processing other academic streams. The third allocation list for postgraduate programs was released today, July 10, including 1,765 fresh allotments. Additionally, the university is conducting admission rounds for its B.Tech programs and five-year integrated law courses. With the undergraduate academic session slated to commence on July 28, the university plans to complete two initial rounds of allocations to ensure a timely start for the new batch of students.
