Ardee Industries IPO Opens; 10% Subscribed On Day 1

Ardee Industries' Rs 425.87 crore IPO opened for subscription on August 5, 2026, with 10% of the shares already bid for in early trade. The lead recycling firm plans to use the funds for working capital and debt repayment. While anchor investors showed interest, potential participants should consider risks like high customer concentration and dependence on volatile lead prices.

The initial public offering (IPO) of Ardee Industries, a specialist in lead recycling, opened for public subscription on August 5, 2026. Within the first hour of trading, by 10:10 am, the issue was 10 percent subscribed. The company is looking to raise Rs 425.87 crore through this public issue, which is scheduled to remain open for investors until August 7, 2026.

The public issue consists of a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 320 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) by existing promoters amounting to Rs 105.87 crore. The shares are being offered in a price band of Rs 50 to Rs 53 per equity share, with a minimum lot size of 281 shares, requiring an investment of Rs 14,893 for a single lot. Shares are expected to list on the stock exchanges on August 12, 2026.

Before the IPO opened to the public, the company raised capital from anchor investors, signaling early institutional interest. The allotment included participation from entities such as the Bank of India Small Cap Fund and Bengal Finance & Investment, which is backed by Ashish Kacholia. This participation is often monitored by investors to gauge professional interest in the offering.

Regarding the company's financial plans, a significant portion of the net proceeds from the fresh issue—Rs 220 crore—is earmarked for incremental working capital needs, which is the cash required for daily operations. Additionally, Rs 20 crore is intended for the repayment of specific debts, while the remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Investors looking at the business should note that the company operates in the metal recycling sector, which carries specific operational and financial risks. A key point for shareholders to track is the customer concentration. Approximately 91.6 percent of the company's revenue for the fiscal year 2026 came from its top 10 customers. This means the loss of a major client could impact the company's revenue.

Furthermore, the business is highly sensitive to the market price of lead, which fluctuates based on global trends in the London Metal Exchange (LME) and domestic trends on the MCX. Since the cost of raw materials and the selling price of the recycled product are linked to these volatile prices, the company's profit margins may fluctuate.

Financial data also reveals that the company carries a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.25x, which implies a significant level of borrowing relative to the company's own capital. Investors may monitor whether the repayment of debt using IPO proceeds improves this balance sheet position. Additionally, like other companies in the recycling space, Ardee Industries is subject to strict environmental and regulatory compliance standards, which, if not met, could lead to operational issues.
