Anthem Biosciences Shares Fall 2% After Q1 Revenue Dip

Anthem Biosciences shares dropped 2.19% to Rs 811.65 after the company reported a sequential revenue decline to Rs 418.22 crore for the June 2026 quarter. While the firm shows solid long-term fundamentals, investors are currently reacting to the quarter-on-quarter drop in profits and earnings per share.

Anthem Biosciences saw its share price decline by 2.19% on Tuesday, closing at Rs 811.65. The market reaction follows the company's financial results for the June 2026 quarter, which showed a cooling in performance compared to the previous three-month period.

Quarterly Financial Performance

For the quarter ending June 2026, the company recorded consolidated revenue of Rs 418.22 crore. This is a noticeable reduction from the Rs 610.94 crore reported in the March 2026 quarter. Net profit followed a similar path, falling to Rs 119.94 crore from Rs 189.76 crore in the preceding quarter. As a direct result, the earnings per share, which measures profit allocated to each share of stock, fell to Rs 2.13 from Rs 3.38 in the March 2026 quarter.

While the immediate quarter showed a decline, the company’s performance over the full fiscal year ending March 2026 remains stronger. In that period, consolidated revenue reached Rs 2,124.33 crore, up from Rs 1,844.55 crore the year prior. Net profit also grew on an annual basis to Rs 591.79 crore from Rs 451.26 crore, reflecting a broader trend of expansion despite the recent quarterly fluctuation.

Financial Health and Dividend Update

Anthem Biosciences continues to maintain a very low level of debt. As of the end of the last fiscal year, the company’s debt-to-equity ratio stood at 0.02, which suggests a conservative approach to borrowing. The company also maintains a strong liquidity position, indicated by a current ratio of 5.54, meaning it has significantly more current assets than short-term liabilities. Additionally, the company delivered a return on equity of 19.45%, reflecting how effectively management uses shareholder money to generate profit.

In recent corporate actions, the company finalized a dividend payment of Rs 2.00 per share for the fiscal year 2026, which was paid out in late June. Following this, the company conducted its 20th Annual General Meeting on July 22, 2026, and has since released the official voting results and the scrutinizer's report for investor review.

Going forward, investors will likely track whether the revenue contraction is a temporary seasonal effect or if it signals a broader shift in demand for the company’s offerings. Monitoring the next quarterly report will be important to see if revenue and profit margins stabilize or return to the growth trajectory observed in the last fiscal year.
