Adani Group Posts ₹46,376 Cr Profit in FY26, Capex Hits ₹1.5 Lakh Cr

Adani Group reported a 7.4% rise in FY26 revenue to ₹2.92 lakh crore, with a net profit of ₹46,376 crore. The Group confirmed the resolution of major US and Indian regulatory investigations by May 2026. Investors are now focused on its ₹1.5 lakh crore infrastructure investment strategy and capacity expansion across power, ports, and data centers.

What Happened

Adani Group has closed the fiscal year 2026 with strong financial growth and the successful resolution of significant regulatory hurdles. In its latest annual update, the conglomerate reported a consolidated revenue of ₹2.92 lakh crore, marking a 7.4% increase from the previous year. Profit after tax grew by 13.9% to ₹46,376 crore. Chairman Gautam Adani emphasized that the group successfully navigated a period of intense external scrutiny, culminating in the legal clearance of key leadership and entities by both Indian and US regulators earlier in 2026.

Financial Performance and Capital Strength

The Group’s focus remained on scaling its core infrastructure assets. With an EBITDA of ₹94,834 crore and a healthy net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 3.3 times, the company demonstrated a stable leverage profile despite heavy capital spending. The recent ₹25,000-crore rights issue served as a major capital injection, which management cited as a vote of investor confidence following the volatility sparked by the 2023 Hindenburg Research report and subsequent US bribery allegations. Strong cash flows of ₹67,995 crore provided the liquidity necessary to support the year's record-breaking capital expenditure.

Infrastructure and Expansion Strategy

Infrastructure investment was the defining theme for the Group in FY26, with ₹1.5 lakh crore deployed into capital projects. This investment accounted for over 30% of the private sector’s infrastructure spending in India for the year. Key growth drivers included Adani Energy Solutions, which grew its transmission order book to ₹72,000 crore, and Adani Ports, which surpassed 500 million tonnes of cargo handling. Adani Power is currently pursuing an aggressive capacity expansion target of 45 GW over the next five years, while the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport marks a significant addition to the company's transport portfolio.

Regulatory and Legal Landscape

The path to these results was marked by significant legal challenges. In the US, prosecutors had previously alleged bribery in relation to solar contracts, which led to the cancellation of a $600-million bond issue by Adani Green Energy. However, by May 2026, these criminal charges against Gautam and Sagar Adani were dropped, and the Group reached settlements with the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Treasury. Additionally, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) concluded its investigation into the Group’s entities in September 2025, clearing the management and company figures of the allegations raised in the 2023 report.

What Investors Should Track Next

While the regulatory clarity has removed a major overhang, the primary monitorable for investors remains the Group's execution speed. Given the massive capital intensity of projects like the 45 GW power capacity expansion and the one-billion-tonne cargo target for Adani Ports by 2030, the ability to manage debt levels while scaling up will be critical. Investors will also look for sustained margin improvements and the impact of the newly launched aerospace manufacturing partnerships with Leonardo and Embraer on the Group's overall revenue mix.
