Strategic Alliance to Bolster MRO Capabilities
AXISCADES Technologies Limited has inked a significant strategic partnership with OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, a subsidiary of Embraer. This alliance is designed to dramatically scale global Aerospace and Defence Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services. The collaboration targets enhanced capabilities in aerospace manufacturing, airframe engineering, and certification across commercial and military aircraft platforms. AXISCADES aims to ascend the aerospace value chain through this venture, focusing on high-value, long-term service contracts.
Expanding Reach and Indigenous Ecosystem
The agreement outlines support for Embraer and other manufacturers' aircraft maintenance operations within India. This includes VVIP/VIP fleets, AEW&C platforms, and various commercial aircraft. Beyond Indian borders, the partnership intends to explore new business opportunities in the UAE and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This international expansion leverages OGMA's established relationships with major global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Airbus Defence, Rolls-Royce, and Pratt & Whitney. The move aligns with India's self-reliance goals in defence manufacturing. AXISCADES is concurrently developing one of India's largest integrated Aerospace and Defence manufacturing and MRO hubs near Bengaluru International Airport. This facility will house dedicated hangars, speed shops, engine shops, a Welding Center of Excellence, and strategic electronics manufacturing units, further strengthening India's indigenous MRO ecosystem and building globally competitive capabilities.
