The 8th Pay Commission is broadening its national outreach with a planned session in Lucknow on June 22 and 23, 2026. This visit shows the commission's dedication to collecting feedback from diverse groups across India.
Uttar Pradesh Focus
Organizations and employee associations in Uttar Pradesh are invited to request meeting appointments by June 10, 2026. To do so, they must first submit a memorandum via the official 8CPC website to get a unique ID. The commission noted that people from outside Uttar Pradesh should not request appointments for this specific event, as separate sessions will be organized for them.
Wider Consultation Efforts
This Lucknow meeting follows earlier sessions in Delhi (April 28-30) and Jaipur (May 18-19), where employee representatives voiced their concerns. The commission has also scheduled consultations in Srinagar (June 1-4) and Ladakh (June 8, 2026), highlighting a broad effort to connect with various employee groups.
Informing Future Pay Scales
These widespread consultations are crucial for the commission to understand the expectations of central government employees and pensioners. The information gathered will guide recommendations for future salary, allowance, and pension schemes. While these meetings won't lead to immediate policy changes, they are important steps in preparing for the next pay review.
