Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt. Ltd. is launching two new Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to enhance its investment product offerings. The first is the Mirae Asset Nifty Energy ETF, an open-ended equity scheme tracking the Nifty Energy Total Return Index. This fund provides investors with diversified exposure to India's growing energy sector, including traditional hydrocarbons, power utilities, and renewable energy sources, covering industries like oil, gas, power, and capital goods. The second is the Mirae Asset Nifty Smallcap 250 ETF, an open-ended scheme tracking the Nifty Smallcap 250 Total Return Index. This ETF offers investors affordable and diversified access to India's vibrant small-cap segment, tracking companies ranked 251 to 500 by market capitalization within the Nifty 500 universe.
The New Fund Offers (NFOs) for both ETFs will be open for subscription from October 31, 2025, to November 4, 2025, with the schemes reopening on November 10, 2025. The minimum initial investment required is ₹5,000.
Siddharth Srivastava, Head - ETF Products & Fund Manager at Mirae Asset, highlighted that these launches strengthen their product basket across core market-cap segments, enabling comprehensive coverage. Mirae Asset is now one of the few AMCs offering ETFs across Nifty 50, Nifty Next 50, Nifty Midcap 150, and Nifty Smallcap 250.
Impact: This news is significant for investors seeking passive investment options in specific market segments like energy and small-cap stocks. The introduction of these ETFs by a major Asset Management Company (AMC) can foster competition, potentially leading to lower costs and increased product variety. It also reflects growing investor interest in the energy transition and the small-cap space as key drivers of India's economic expansion. Impact Rating: 6/10
