Quant Value Fund Leads 3-Year Returns at 20.4% CAGR

Quant Value Fund has emerged as the top performer among value-oriented mutual funds over a three-year period, delivering a 20.4% annual return. While it leads in long-term performance, investors should consider the fund's 'Very High' risk profile and the varying returns seen over shorter timeframes compared to peers like Axis and HSBC Value Funds.

Quant Value Fund has secured the top position among value-themed mutual funds based on three-year annualized returns, reporting a 20.4% CAGR as of early August 2026. This performance marks a notable lead over its benchmark, the Nifty 500 Value 50 Total Return Index. When looking at long-term results, this fund has effectively navigated market cycles to outperform several of its competitors.

Peer Comparison and Fund Size

In the value-oriented category, competition remains active. Axis Value Fund recorded a 18.1% three-year CAGR, while HSBC Value Fund followed closely with 17.6%. It is useful for investors to note the difference in scale between these funds. While Quant Value Fund holds approximately ₹1,952 crore in assets under management (AUM), competitors like HSBC Value Fund manage a significantly larger corpus, with their AUM reaching over ₹14,828 crore. Larger funds may have different liquidity management approaches compared to smaller, more concentrated funds.

Shifting Trends Across Timeframes

Investment performance can fluctuate depending on the duration measured. While Quant Value Fund leads in the three-year and one-year horizons, the picture changes in the short term. Axis Value Fund outperformed in the recent one-month and three-month periods, delivering gains of 3.8% and 6.9%, respectively. This variation highlights the importance of not relying on a single timeframe when evaluating mutual fund performance. Investors often look at multiple periods to understand if a fund's strategy is consistent across both short-term market corrections and long-term trends.

Investor Perspective on Risk

Quant Value Fund is categorized under a 'Very High' risk profile. This classification is standard for many equity-focused funds but underscores the potential for volatility in the portfolio. A critical aspect for investors to watch is the fund's concentration risk. The fund’s strategy often involves specific stock selections, which can lead to higher exposure to certain companies or sectors. If those specific stocks face market pressure or regulatory headwinds, the fund's overall performance can be more volatile than a more diversified peer.

Past returns are not a guarantee of future performance. Investors may track the fund's portfolio updates and management commentary to understand how the investment strategy adapts to changing market conditions. When selecting a value fund, it remains prudent to weigh the long-term performance track record against the risk profile and the consistency of returns across different economic cycles.
