Quant Flexi Cap Fund Leads 1-Year Returns at 8.7%

Quant Flexi Cap Fund recorded the highest one-year CAGR of 8.7% among flexi-cap mutual funds with over Rs 1,500 crore in assets. Bank of India Flexi Cap Fund and ICICI Pru Flexicap Fund trailed with 7.3% and 7.2% returns respectively. Investors should examine performance across multiple timeframes to understand consistency.

The flexi-cap mutual fund category has seen shifting performance leaders as of July 7, 2026. Data shows that Quant Flexi Cap Fund delivered an 8.7% compound annual growth rate over the past year, securing the top position among funds with at least Rs 1,500 crore in assets under management. Bank of India Flexi Cap Fund and ICICI Pru Flexicap Fund followed closely, reporting returns of 7.3% and 7.2%, respectively, during the same period.

Comparing Performance Across Periods

While one-year data highlights current leaders, fund rankings often change depending on the timeframe analyzed. For instance, ICICI Pru Flexicap Fund outperformed its peers over a one-month period, delivering a 6.3% return. When looking at a three-month horizon, Quant Flexi Cap Fund regained the lead with an 18.8% gain. These fluctuations suggest that short-term performance can be volatile and may not always reflect the long-term strategy or risk profile of the scheme.

Long-Term Perspectives and Benchmarks

Over a three-year horizon, Bank of India Flexi Cap Fund stood out with a 20.1% return. Analyzing performance over longer periods is essential for investors to differentiate between short-term market timing and consistent fund management. Furthermore, the ability of a fund to beat its benchmark is a key metric. Quant Flexi Cap Fund showed notable outperformance, leading its benchmark by 11.8 percentage points over the past year, while the benchmark itself recorded a negative 3.1% return. Over a three-year span, the fund also outperformed its benchmark by 8.0 percentage points, as the benchmark yielded 9.3%.

Asset Size and Fund Selection

It is important to note that performance is only one factor to consider when evaluating mutual funds. Fund size, or assets under management, also varies significantly. For example, Aditya Birla SL Flexi Cap Fund maintains the largest corpus among the top five performers, managing Rs 26,032.2 crore. Larger funds may offer different liquidity profiles compared to smaller schemes. Investors typically monitor consistency across cycles, the fund manager's track record, and the scheme's expense ratio alongside these return figures to make informed decisions.
