The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) has formed five new partnerships at FICCI FRAMES 2026 to support India’s growing creative-tech and AVGC-XR sector. The collaborations focus on training, startup incubation, and industry governance. Note for investors: The IICT is a non-profit academic institution, not a listed company, and has no tradable shares on the stock market.
The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) finalized five strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the FICCI FRAMES 2026 summit in Mumbai. These agreements aim to strengthen the ecosystem for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) in India by linking academic training with industry requirements.
Expanding Industry Partnerships
The partnerships involve several key organizations. An agreement with the Motion Picture Association, India, is designed to connect students with global film and streaming production standards. Separately, the institute signed a deal with the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) in Kerala to establish a Centre of Excellence, which will focus on faculty training and student internships. Other MoUs include an arrangement with the E-Sports Games Federation for setting up a governance structure for professional gaming, a tie-up with RioWood for exploring AI-based production tools, and an agreement with Warm Up Ventures to create an acceleration program for creative-tech startups.
Sector Context for Investors
The creative-tech sector is currently gaining attention due to the rising demand for digital content and immersive experiences. Initiatives like these MoUs are attempts to bridge the gap between academic preparation and the technical skills needed by the entertainment and gaming industries. While the IICT aims to create a more formal pipeline of talent and technology for the sector, the success of these programs will depend on their ability to execute training models that lead to actual industry placements and startup growth.
Important Note for Investors
Readers should note that the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) is a non-profit academic and training institution, not a publicly traded company. It does not issue shares, and it is not listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) or the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). There is no stock available to trade for this entity. Investors searching for investment opportunities in the AVGC-XR sector should distinguish between academic institutions that provide training and listed technology or media companies that offer exposure to the digital entertainment market. Market participants are advised to verify the listing status of any company before making decisions, as names of different organizations can sometimes sound similar.
