David Zakkam has joined JioHotstar as its new Senior Vice President and Head of Analytics & Data Strategy. He brings more than 20 years of global experience in data science and analytics from leading tech firms such as Uber, Meta, Swiggy, and Mu Sigma. At Uber, Zakkam led data and applied science teams, focusing on growth and early generative AI applications. At Meta, he tackled large-scale integrity issues affecting millions of users. Previously, as Vice President of Analytics at Swiggy, he fostered a strong data culture.
In his new role at JioHotstar, Zakkam will collaborate with business, content, marketing, ads, engineering, and product teams to leverage data for unlocking consumer and business value. He stated his motivation for returning from retirement was the opportunity to build advanced data capabilities and transform analytics into a strategic advantage for JioHotstar. His goals include enhancing content performance measurement, strengthening personalization, and supporting revenue growth across India and international markets.
