Valsad Police Detain Three Juveniles Over Minor's Assault

Police in Gujarat’s Valsad district have apprehended three juveniles following an alleged gang rape incident near Tithal Beach. The investigation, which involves charges under the POCSO Act, centers on a meeting arranged through social media interaction.

Authorities in the Valsad district of Gujarat have taken three juveniles into custody following an alleged gang rape involving a minor. The incident took place on the night of August 23, 2026, near the Sai Baba Temple located at Tithal Beach.

Following the filing of a formal complaint, local police moved to identify and apprehend the suspects. The case is currently being investigated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The legal process is now proceeding under the oversight of the juvenile justice board.

Preliminary investigations by local law enforcement revealed that the victim and one of the accused had been in contact via the social media platform Instagram for approximately two years. The digital interaction eventually led to an in-person meeting in the coastal area near the temple site. According to police reports, the victim was coerced into a secluded area where the incident occurred.

The victim was reported missing on the night of the incident, triggering a search operation by family members and local residents. She was discovered in the early hours of the following morning, at which point details regarding the assault were provided to authorities. The three suspects were detained by the Valsad City Police shortly after the complaint was registered. The investigation remains ongoing as police compile the necessary reports for the judicial process.
