The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Rajasthan has reported a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, resulting in the seizure of narcotics valued at more than ₹700 crore over the past 10 months. Alongside these seizures, authorities have apprehended 84 individuals allegedly involved in the illicit trade. This operation marks a major step in the state’s ongoing efforts to break down organized narcotics networks.
Dismantling Manufacturing and Supply Networks
A primary focus of the task force has been the identification and destruction of production facilities. During this period, the ANTF successfully dismantled 34 units suspected of manufacturing MD drugs. In addition to synthetic narcotics, the task force recovered 185 kg of synthetic drugs and over 360 kg of opium. The operation specifically targeted major trafficking routes linking Rajasthan with other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Manipur, to create a more effective barrier against cross-state smuggling.
Scaling Anti-Narcotics Operations
The recent seizure figures highlight an intensifying battle against drug-related crime in the state. Last year, law enforcement agencies reported the seizure of narcotics valued at approximately ₹850 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. With the current momentum, official projections suggest that the total value of confiscated substances for the current year may exceed ₹1,000 crore. These efforts have involved close collaboration between the ANTF, various state-level agencies, and five central investigative bodies to track down wanted suspects who had previously evaded capture.

The coordinated actions aim to weaken the supply chain of illegal substances by targeting both production sites and transit corridors. Inspector General Vikas Kumar has publicly appealed for information from the community to assist in identifying further illicit activities. The task force has established a confidential reporting system to ensure the safety of informants, as the administration continues its push to disrupt the narcotics infrastructure across the state.
