ED Attaches Rs 129.85 Crore Assets In TTD Ghee Fraud Case

The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth Rs 129.85 crore linked to dairy firms involved in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) ghee adulteration scandal. The investigation revealed these private companies allegedly supplied substandard products worth Rs 234.5 crore using shell entities and illegal money transfer channels. As these are unlisted firms, there is no direct impact on public stock markets, though the case highlights severe risks in government procurement.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action in the ongoing investigation into the supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the body that manages the Tirupati temple. On October 14, 2026, the federal agency provisionally attached assets worth Rs 129.85 crore as part of its money laundering probe. This move follows an extensive investigation into how these dairy firms operated.

The investigation centers on allegations that multiple dairy firms supplied ghee that was not pure. Instead, the products were allegedly made by mixing refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, and chemical additives like beta-carotene. The ED stated that these firms claimed to have supplied approximately Rs 234.5 crore worth of products to the temple authorities, effectively deceiving the TTD with substandard ingredients disguised as genuine dairy goods.

The probe uncovered a complex network used to hide the nature of these funds. The accused entities allegedly set up shell companies—businesses created only on paper—to issue fake invoices and mask the high volume of chemical inputs purchased. To further complicate the financial trail, the entities used illegal money transfer channels, often called hawala, to move cash and fund their ongoing operations, all while bidding for large government-linked tenders.

The entities targeted in this attachment include Bhole Baba Organic Dairymilk Pvt Ltd, Sri Vyshnavi Dairy Specialities Pvt Ltd, and Sukriti Foods Pvt Ltd. Several promoters, including Vipin Jain, Pomil Jain, and Kailash Chand Mangla, have been linked to these operations. With this latest seizure, the total value of assets attached or frozen by the ED in connection with this case has reached Rs 132.55 crore.

For investors and the broader market, it is important to note that all companies involved in this investigation are private, unlisted entities. Therefore, there is no direct impact on any publicly traded stocks or stock market indices. However, the case highlights the operational and legal risks inherent in government supply chains. Strict vendor quality checks and transparency in procurement processes remain critical monitorables for any organization, whether public or private. The matter is currently being handled by the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Nellore, where a chargesheet detailing the conspiracy has already been filed.
