The police initiated a more intensive investigation after discovering two suicide notes. One note, attributed to the deceased daughter, Sowjanya, accused Khan of harassment and pressuring her to convert to Islam. These findings led the authorities to register cases of abetment to suicide, extortion, and murder, acting on a formal complaint filed by the father-in-law, Bhaskar Reddy.
The investigation is now looking into the death of Sowjanya’s husband, Kovvuri Jagadeesh Reddy, which occurred prior to the August 16 incident. Authorities are examining allegations in the suicide notes that Khan may have been involved in poisoning the husband. This probe is part of a broader effort to verify the claims and determine if the events are connected.
After a multi-state manhunt involving over ten police teams, Khan was apprehended in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody in Andhra Pradesh. The authorities are currently gathering evidence to corroborate the allegations made in the notes and are investigating the roles of all individuals involved. The case continues to be a high-priority matter for the state police, with further interrogations expected to clarify the sequence of events.
