Wiscon Industries IPO to Open Oct 27 at Rs 194-204 Band

Wiscon Industries has raised Rs 25 crore from anchor investors ahead of its Rs 110 crore IPO, which opens for public subscription on October 27. The company produces consumer appliances and electric scooters. Investors may look at the firm's significant capital allocation plans for its subsidiary and the competitive pressures in the Indian electronics market.

Wiscon Industries, a consumer electronics company based in New Delhi, has secured Rs 25 crore from anchor investors ahead of its initial public offering. This anchor allotment, which includes funds such as LRSD Capital, PSEB Alpha Fund, and Mastergrowth 369 Alternate Investment Trust, involves the distribution of 12.25 lakh equity shares. This move precedes the company's Rs 110 crore public issue, which is scheduled to open for subscription on October 27, with a price band set between Rs 194 and Rs 204 per share.

The public offering consists of a fresh issue of 43.14 lakh shares and an offer for sale of 10.78 lakh shares by promoters. The fresh capital is primarily targeted at supporting the growth of its subsidiary, Dalmia Technologies. The company plans to deploy Rs 50 crore into Dalmia Technologies for capital expenditure, including the acquisition of new plant and machinery, and to meet working capital requirements. Additionally, Rs 17 crore is reserved for general working capital, and Rs 5.2 crore has been set aside for brand promotion, while the remainder will support general corporate activities.

Wiscon Industries maintains a presence in the consumer electronics space, with a portfolio that includes LED televisions, air coolers, washing machines, and air conditioners. The firm utilizes a business-to-business and retail strategy to reach its customers. Beyond its core appliances, the company has also expanded into the electric vehicle space, specifically by selling third-party branded electric scooters. Smart Horizon Capital Advisors is the lead merchant banker overseeing the issuance process.

For investors, the key area of focus will be the company’s reliance on its subsidiary, Dalmia Technologies, for a large portion of its growth strategy. The performance of this investment in plant and machinery will be crucial to future earnings. Furthermore, the Indian consumer electronics sector is highly competitive, with established brands often dictating pricing and holding significant market share. This environment can lead to pressure on profit margins, as companies often must spend heavily on branding and distribution to maintain growth.

As the issue opens on October 27, the market will monitor subscription levels as an indicator of investor sentiment. The long-term success of the business will depend on how effectively the company manages its operational costs, expands its manufacturing capacity, and navigates the intense competition in both the appliances and electric mobility segments.
