Veegaland Developers Lists at 10% Premium, Opening at ₹154

Veegaland Developers shares debuted on the NSE at ₹154, marking a 10% gain over the ₹140 issue price. The company’s ₹210-crore IPO attracted strong interest, closing with a 13.55x subscription rate. With the listing complete, investors will now track the company's ability to utilize funds for residential project expansion and maintain its reported growth trajectory.

Veegaland Developers, a real estate firm based in Kerala, saw its shares begin trading on the stock exchanges this Friday. The stock opened at ₹154 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), which is a 10% premium over its IPO price of ₹140. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the shares debuted at ₹151, a 7.86% increase. This initial market performance followed a strong response during the subscription period, where investors bid for 13.55 times the total number of shares offered in the ₹210-crore public issue.

Subscription Demand and Financials

The IPO saw significant interest across different investor categories. Qualified Institutional Buyers led the demand with a 17.76x subscription, while Non-Institutional Investors subscribed 18.03 times. Retail investor interest was also notable, with that segment oversubscribed by 9.24 times. This demand likely reflects investor confidence in the company’s position within the Kerala residential real estate market. The company recently reported high growth figures for its revenue, EBITDA, and profit after tax between FY24 and FY26, which were key points highlighted during the pre-listing period.

Expansion and Investor Monitorables

Veegaland Developers intends to use the money raised from the IPO to support the ongoing development of its residential apartment portfolio and for general corporate requirements. The firm operates across premium and mid-premium segments and shares a brand heritage linked to the V-Guard group. As the company moves into its phase as a publicly traded entity, the ability to execute its project pipeline will be the primary factor for shareholders to watch.

Real estate developers often face challenges such as project delays, potential cost increases, and fluctuations in housing demand. Therefore, the company's financial performance will depend on its ability to maintain profit margins while scaling operations. Investors will likely look for updates on project commissioning dates, the deployment of fresh capital, and the company's ability to keep its debt levels in check as it pursues new developments.
