Veeda Lifesciences Seeks Majority Stake Sale at $400M Value

Veeda Lifesciences has restarted plans to sell a majority stake, aiming for a valuation of up to $400 million, following two failed attempts to launch an IPO. The contract research firm has hired JPMorgan to manage the process, which includes a full exit for long-term investor CX Partners. This pivot toward a private deal comes as the company faces recent financial losses.

Veeda Lifesciences, a clinical research firm, has initiated a fresh process to sell a majority stake in its business. The company is targeting a valuation between $300 million and $400 million as it seeks to bring in new capital and allow current investors to exit. JPMorgan Chase & Co. has been hired to lead this process, which will involve both primary and secondary share sales.

This move marks a significant change in strategy for the firm. In both 2021 and 2025, the company prepared for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) but ultimately could not proceed. With its most recent regulatory approval for a public listing having expired on September 30, 2026, the management has turned its focus toward a private transaction to address the liquidity needs of its long-term backers, including CX Partners, which has been invested in the company for eight years.

Financial data reveals the challenges the company has faced during this period. While the firm saw operating revenues climb to ₹611 crore in the 2025 fiscal year compared to ₹389 crore the year before, profitability has remained under pressure. In the first nine months of the 2026 fiscal year, the company reported revenue of approximately ₹222 crore and a net loss of ₹66.81 crore. These financial results reflect the high costs associated with expanding its operations and integrating recent acquisitions like Heads and BIPL, which the company bought to strengthen its capabilities in areas like oncology and biologics.

The contract research sector is capital-intensive, requiring constant spending on infrastructure, talent, and clinical trial networks. As Veeda Lifesciences works to grow its footprint, it faces stiff competition from established domestic and global players like Syngene International and Navitas Life Sciences. Succeeding in this environment requires not just scale, but the ability to maintain consistent profit margins while managing heavy investment costs.

For observers of the company, the next important development will be the progress of this sale process. The key monitorable will be whether the company can attract strategic buyers or private equity investors at its targeted valuation. Potential investors will likely focus on how the firm plans to turn its recent losses into sustained profits, how it manages the integration of its acquired businesses, and how it intends to use the new capital to improve its competitive position in the global drug testing market.
