Vaibhav Vyapaar IPO Closes 3.08x Subscribed; Lists Oct 21

Digital lender Vaibhav Vyapaar concluded its Rs 42.1 crore IPO with a 3.08x subscription rate on October 15. The company will now proceed to share allotment, with trading set to begin on the NSE Emerge platform on October 21. The funds raised will be used to bolster the company’s capital base for regulatory compliance as it scales its personal loan operations.

Vaibhav Vyapaar, a digital lender operating the LoanFront platform, successfully closed its Rs 42.1 crore initial public offering on October 15. The public issue saw a total subscription of 3.08 times, indicating moderate interest from investors. The company, which specializes in offering unsecured personal loans to salaried and self-employed individuals, is now moving toward its debut on the NSE Emerge platform, which is scheduled for October 21.

The subscription process reflected varying demand across investor categories. Non-institutional investors were the most active, bidding for 7 times the shares reserved for them. Retail investors recorded a subscription of 2.7 times, while qualified institutional buyers covered their quota 1.6 times. Before the public issue opened to the wider market, the company secured Rs 11.88 crore from five institutional investors through an anchor book, including participants like Getfive Opportunity Fund and Tiger Strategies Fund.

The primary objective of this IPO is to use the proceeds, specifically about Rs 32 crore, to strengthen the company’s capital base. This is crucial for meeting Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations for non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The regulator mandates a minimum capital-to-risk-weighted-assets ratio (CRAR) of 15 percent. Vaibhav Vyapaar currently reports a CRAR of 43.80 percent, which provides a strong buffer above the required threshold as it expands its lending activities.

Investors should note that Vaibhav Vyapaar operates in the unsecured personal loan segment. Unlike secured lending, this model does not involve collateral, which introduces higher credit risk if borrowers are unable to repay loans. Because the stock is listing on the NSE Emerge platform—designed for small and medium enterprises—investors should consider that liquidity and volatility patterns might differ from those seen on the main stock exchange board.

With the bidding window closed, the company will now focus on the share allotment process, which is expected to be finalized by October 16. Investors can track their allotment status through the registrar’s portal. Moving forward, the company’s performance will depend on its ability to maintain healthy loan quality and manage credit risks while operating in the highly competitive digital lending space.
