Tonbo Imaging Listing Set For Oct 23 After 136x IPO Demand

Tonbo Imaging India will debut on the stock exchange on October 23, 2026, after its Rs 852-crore IPO was subscribed over 135 times. The company enters the market with a valuation of nearly Rs 4,010 crore. Investors should note that the IPO was an offer for sale, meaning all proceeds go to exiting shareholders rather than into the company's business.

Tonbo Imaging India is scheduled to make its stock market debut on October 23, 2026, following an initial public offering that attracted intense interest from investors. The company, which specializes in imaging and sensor systems for the defense sector, concluded its Rs 852.18-crore public issue with an overall subscription of 135.9 times. This high level of demand was particularly evident among institutional buyers, whose category was oversubscribed by 293.56 times.

Non-institutional investors also showed strong interest with a subscription of 170.94 times, while retail investors subscribed 31.06 times. The company set its price band between Rs 665 and Rs 700 per share, leading to a total valuation of approximately Rs 4,010 crore at the upper end of this range. While unofficial trading in the grey market has suggested potential premiums for the stock, these numbers are not guaranteed and often differ from actual price action once trading begins.

A key detail for potential shareholders is that the IPO was entirely an offer for sale. This means the company will not receive any of the capital raised from this transaction. Instead, the money will go to the selling shareholders, which include the company's promoters and private equity investors like Artiman Partners and CEAQ Technologies. Because the company will not retain the proceeds, the IPO does not directly fund new capacity expansion or business operations.

Investors tracking the listing on Wednesday should focus on the opening price and trading volumes. High subscription numbers often point to strong interest, but they can also lead to increased volatility on the listing day as short-term investors may look to book profits. The company operates in the specialized defense technology sector, which benefits from the government's focus on local manufacturing and defense indigenization. However, like other players in this space, Tonbo Imaging's performance is tied to its ability to secure and execute government defense contracts.

As trading commences, investors will watch whether the stock sustains its opening momentum and how the market prices the company relative to its peers in the defense tech space. The final performance will depend on market liquidity and the company’s ability to maintain its growth trajectory in a sector characterized by long gestation periods for contracts.
