Sahajanand Medical Technologies IPO Opens Oct 15: What Investors Need to Know

Mumbai-based Sahajanand Medical Technologies will launch its maiden IPO on October 15, 2026. The issue is a 100% Offer for Sale, meaning no fresh funds will be raised for the company. Investors should consider the firm's reliance on a few key cardiovascular products, its thin profit margins, and existing legal risks before evaluating the public offer.

Sahajanand Medical Technologies, a Mumbai-based manufacturer of cardiovascular medical devices, has announced that its maiden initial public offering will open for subscription on October 15, 2026. The issue will remain open for retail investors until October 19, 2026. This public offering is structured entirely as an Offer for Sale (OFS), which means that existing shareholders are selling their stake in the company. Consequently, the company will not receive any fresh capital from this transaction, as all proceeds from the share sale will go directly to the exiting investors.

Business Focus and Financial Health

The company is primarily involved in the development and manufacturing of cardiovascular medical devices, including coronary stents and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) systems. Its product portfolio is specialized, focusing on high-end cardiovascular interventions. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, the company reported a total income of approximately ₹1,218.73 crore with a profit after tax of ₹69.08 crore. While the company has shown revenue growth, it has previously experienced periods of financial losses, and its profit margins remain thin.

Risks and Investor Monitorables

Investors evaluating this IPO should look closely at several business and regulatory factors. A primary risk is the high product concentration, as a significant portion of the company’s revenue is dependent on its flagship 'Supraflex Cruz' stent. If the market for this specific product faces pricing pressure or new competition, it could materially impact the company’s overall financial performance.

Beyond product concentration, the company faces potential legal and regulatory hurdles. The offer documents have noted the existence of pending criminal and tax-related cases against the company's promoters. Such legal matters can create uncertainty and impact management focus. Furthermore, because this is an OFS, capital infusion for expansion or debt reduction will not happen through this IPO, which might be a concern for investors looking for growth-funded equity issues.

Given the competitive nature of the medical device sector, where regulatory approvals and technological updates are constant, the company's ability to maintain its market share against both domestic and international peers will be a key performance indicator. Future investors will need to monitor how the company manages its working capital cycle and whether it can sustain profitability in a sector known for high capital intensity. The final allotment and listing on the BSE and NSE are expected around October 23, 2026.
