Sahajanand Medical Tech IPO Allotment: How to Check Status

Sahajanand Medical Technologies finalizes its ₹475.48 crore IPO allotment today, October 21. The issue was subscribed 14.20 times, with strong demand from institutional buyers. The stock is set to list on the BSE and NSE on October 23. Because this is an offer for sale, the proceeds will go to selling shareholders rather than the company.

The ₹475.48 crore initial public offering of Sahajanand Medical Technologies is reaching its final stage today, October 21, as the company completes the share allotment process. Investors who applied for the issue are waiting to confirm if they have been allotted shares. The company’s public offer saw steady interest from the market, closing with an overall subscription rate of 14.20 times the shares on offer.

Institutional investors showed the strongest interest, covering their reserved portion 34.70 times. The non-institutional category and retail investors subscribed 14.64 times and 3.03 times, respectively. Before the public bidding began, the company successfully raised ₹140.06 crore from anchor investors, including major domestic mutual fund houses such as Nippon Life India, DSP Mutual Fund, and UTI AMC.

It is useful for investors to understand the specific structure of this IPO. The entire public offer is an 'Offer for Sale.' This means that the company is not issuing new shares to raise capital for its own business operations, such as building new plants or expanding capacity. Instead, existing shareholders are selling their stake, and the funds raised will go to those selling shareholders. As a result, the company’s own cash reserves and capital base remain unchanged by this listing.

The medical device industry is highly competitive, and companies operating in this space face strict regulatory standards and constant pressure to innovate. Investors often look at the grey market, where the stock is currently trading at a 7 percent premium. However, it is important to remember that the grey market is an unofficial, informal platform. It does not provide a reliable prediction of how the stock will actually trade once it is listed on the stock exchanges.

The company’s shares are scheduled to debut on the BSE and NSE on October 23. Investors can check their allotment status through the official registrar portal or the stock exchange websites. Once the stock begins trading, the focus will move from the subscription process to the company’s actual price performance in the public market.
