SFC Environmental Technologies will open its Rs 150-crore IPO for subscription on October 27, with a listing expected on November 3. The company aims to use proceeds for debt reduction and working capital. Investors may evaluate the firm’s recent return to profitability against its substantial debt burden and competitive sector environment.
SFC Environmental Technologies, a company focused on wastewater treatment and recycling, has scheduled its initial public offering (IPO) to open for subscription on October 27, 2026. The issue will remain open until October 29, with a dedicated anchor book window for institutional investors scheduled for October 26. The company expects to list its shares on the exchanges on November 3.
The public offering consists of a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 150 crore. Additionally, existing promoters Sandeep Sudhakar Asolkar and Saketchandrasingh Pratapsingh Dhandoriya will sell a portion of their stake through an offer for sale. The merchant bankers managing the transaction include IIFL Capital Services, JM Financial, and Nuvama Wealth Management.
A primary goal of the IPO is to manage the company's debt. As of July 2026, the company reported a debt level of Rs 253.1 crore. Management has earmarked Rs 42.2 crore from the proceeds for the repayment of existing loans. Furthermore, Rs 74.9 crore will be directed toward meeting operational working capital needs, while the remaining funds are intended for general corporate purposes. For investors, the effectiveness of this debt reduction in improving the balance sheet will be a key factor to monitor after the listing.
Since its incorporation in 2005, the company has expanded its presence in the sewage and solid waste treatment sector. It reports a total order book of Rs 1,202 crore, with Rs 641 crore tied to wastewater treatment and Rs 561 crore to recycling projects. This order book provides a degree of visibility into future operations, though project execution and timing remain essential for translating these orders into sustained revenue.
Financial performance has shown signs of recovery. For the quarter ended June 2026, the company reported revenue of Rs 133.9 crore, doubling from the same period in the previous year. Profit for the first quarter of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 1.5 crore, marking a turnaround after reporting losses in the prior year. While the shift to profitability is a positive indicator, the profit margins remain modest in relation to the company's total debt and the capital-intensive nature of the water treatment business. Investors may watch to see if the company can maintain consistent profit growth while managing its debt and competing in a crowded sector where demand is driven by government infrastructure and industrial requirements.
