Roopa Screen IPO Oversubscribed 350x, Lists Oct 1 on BSE SME

Roopa Screen’s IPO closed with 350 times demand, while Peshwa Wheat saw 2.7 times subscription. Both will debut on the BSE SME platform on October 1. Meanwhile, Green Asia Impex has extended its IPO closing date to October 1 following a revision to its price band, reflecting diverse investor interest in current SME listings.

The initial public offering (IPO) for Roopa Screen concluded on September 28 with heavy demand, reaching a 350-fold subscription. Retail investors showed the most enthusiasm, bidding 529 times their allocated portion. Non-institutional investors and qualified institutional buyers also participated actively, covering their shares 281 and 111 times, respectively. The company intends to use the Rs 19.2 crore raised to expand its manufacturing facilities in Gujarat and support daily working capital needs.

Mixed Demand for Peshwa Wheat and Industry Trends

In contrast, Peshwa Wheat saw a more cautious reception, ending its IPO with an overall subscription of 2.7 times. While retail interest was lower, qualified institutional buyers drove the primary demand by bidding 177 times their allotted quota. The company plans to deploy the Rs 53.52 crore proceeds toward upgrading plant machinery and managing rising operational expenses. Both Roopa Screen and Peshwa Wheat are scheduled to begin trading on the BSE SME platform on October 1.

Evolving Market Dynamics for SME IPOs

Investor appetite remains varied across the SME segment. Green Asia Impex has adjusted its strategy by extending its IPO closing date to October 1 and revising its price band to Rs 84-89 per share. These differences highlight the importance of assessing company-specific fundamentals, such as expansion plans and funding requirements, before investing. While the grey market has suggested a potential premium for Roopa Screen, Peshwa Wheat has not seen significant premium interest so far. Investors should note that SME IPOs are generally characterized by higher volatility and lower liquidity compared to mainboard listings. Final share allotment for the upcoming listings is expected by September 29, providing investors with clarity on share distribution before the October 1 market debut.
