Purple Style Labs to Launch ₹680 Crore IPO on August 31

Luxury fashion platform Purple Style Labs, the parent of Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, will open its ₹680 crore initial public offering on August 31. The IPO consists entirely of a fresh issue to fund retail expansion and marketing. Investors should note the company's recent operating losses and high reliance on physical lease commitments.

Purple Style Labs Limited (PSLL), the parent company behind the luxury multi-brand platform Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, has announced that its initial public offering (IPO) will open for subscription on August 31, 2026. The issue, which aims to raise ₹680 crore, will conclude on September 2. Anchor investors will be given the opportunity to bid for shares on August 28, as outlined in the company’s regulatory filings.

This public offering is structured entirely as a fresh issue of equity shares, meaning the company will raise new capital to fuel its business growth rather than allowing existing shareholders to sell their stakes. The company received regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in January 2026.

Capital Allocation and Expansion Strategy

The company has outlined a clear plan for utilizing the proceeds from the IPO. A substantial portion of the funds, approximately ₹371.13 crore, is allocated to its subsidiary, PSL Retail. This capital is primarily intended to cover lease liabilities for its 'Experience Centers' and back-end office infrastructure across the country. Additionally, ₹138.90 crore has been earmarked for sales and marketing initiatives to strengthen the brand's presence in the competitive luxury fashion market.

Purple Style Labs currently features a portfolio of over 2 lakh products from more than 1,300 designers. The company utilizes an omni-channel approach, combining an e-commerce platform with 14 physical 'Experience Centers' in premium locations, including Mumbai and New York.

Financial Context and Risks

While the company is expanding within the growing luxury and wedding-wear sector, potential investors should consider the financial reality behind the growth. The company reported a loss after tax of ₹188.55 crore for the financial year ending in March 2025. Because the business model relies heavily on scaling its physical retail footprint, it carries significant lease obligations. This structure creates ongoing cash flow pressure. Future profitability will depend on the company's ability to drive higher revenues while managing these fixed operational costs.

Ownership and Management

The company is promoted by Abhishek Agarwal, who holds a 27.10 per cent stake. Beyond its promoters, Purple Style Labs has attracted capital from several high-profile figures, including actors Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, as well as sports personality Sachin Tendulkar. The IPO process is being managed by investment bankers Axis Capital Ltd and IIFL Capital Services Ltd.

As the company moves toward its public debut, the key monitorable for investors will be the sustainability of the company's margins and its ability to turn operating cash flows positive while managing its aggressive expansion of physical centers.
