M K Sons Fine Jewels IPO Subscribed 3.5 Times on Final Day

M K Sons Fine Jewels' IPO reached 3.50 times subscription by the final day, led by strong interest from non-institutional investors. The company aims to raise ₹275.4 crore to expand its retail presence in Maharashtra and Gujarat and reduce debt.

The initial public offering (IPO) of M K Sons Fine Jewels concluded its bidding window with a total subscription of 3.50 times the shares on offer by the final day. Investors showed varied interest levels across different categories, with the non-institutional investor segment leading the response at 9.41 times their allotted portion. Retail investors subscribed 2.36 times, while qualified institutional buyers showed more cautious participation, covering 1.05 times the available shares.

IPO Structure and Pricing

The company set the price band for the IPO between ₹153 and ₹162 per share. At the upper end of this band, the total issue size aims to raise approximately ₹275.4 crore. The IPO structure consists of a fresh issue of 1.36 crore equity shares and an offer for sale of 34 lakh shares by promoter Ramchand Murlidhar Raimalani. Before the public issue opened, the company raised ₹82.62 crore from anchor investors, including Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE and global opportunity funds, who were allotted shares at the price of ₹162.

Strategic Expansion and Debt Plans

The capital raised from the fresh issue is earmarked for specific growth and financial goals. Management plans to use the funds to open a new jewelry showroom in Maharashtra and expand the existing retail operations in Gujarat. A part of the proceeds is also intended to retire existing debt, which is a common strategy to clean up the balance sheet and reduce interest expenses. Expanding into new regions is a core part of the company's objective to increase its footprint in the competitive Indian jewelry market. Investors should note that the success of these expansion plans depends on the company's ability to execute store openings effectively and manage the increased operational costs.

Next Steps for Investors

With the bidding process now complete, the focus for investors shifts to the allotment status. The registrar will finalize the share allocation, and successful applicants will see shares credited to their demat accounts before the listing date. Those who did not receive an allotment will have their application funds unblocked in their bank accounts as per the standard refund process. The company is expected to announce the basis of allotment in the coming days, followed by the stock market debut.
