Kerala-based ABAD Group plans to double its annual turnover to ₹3,000 crore by 2028. The diversified conglomerate is unifying its brand identity to prepare for a potential initial public offering within the next three years to fund expansion.
Kochi-based ABAD Group has announced an ambitious strategy to double its annual turnover to ₹3,000 crore within the next three years. As part of this growth plan, the group is consolidating its diverse business interests—including seafood, hospitality, and real estate—under a single, unified brand identity. This reorganization is intended to formalize the company's structure as it works toward a potential initial public offering (IPO) by 2028.
The conglomerate currently operates across several sectors, with its seafood business acting as a key revenue driver. ABAD Fisheries manages a network of 14 certified processing factories with a daily capacity of 300 tonnes and significant cold storage infrastructure. In the hospitality sector, the company operates 16 properties with 500 rooms and plans to increase this to 1,000 rooms as it expands into broader South Indian markets. Simultaneously, the real estate division, ABAD Builders, is continuing its work on luxury residential developments, having completed 49 projects since its inception.
For the group, this expansion involves significant capital spending. As the company moves toward a public market debut, it will likely focus on improving operational efficiency and managing the debt required to fund such large-scale growth. Investors tracking the group’s progress should note that the success of these plans depends on the company's ability to execute its infrastructure projects, such as the hospitality expansion, on time and within budget.
Business risks for the group include the cyclical nature of the real estate sector and the competitive hospitality industry. Additionally, the seafood business, a major part of the group’s operations, is heavily dependent on international trade and global demand patterns, which can be affected by changing import regulations or price fluctuations in export markets. As a private entity, the ABAD Group is currently in the early stages of preparing for a potential market listing. The key monitorable for future observers will be how the group maintains its profit margins while managing the capital-intensive requirements of its combined real estate, hospitality, and food supply chains.
