InMobi Names Hema Namburi Group CFO as $5 Billion IPO Looms

InMobi has appointed long-time veteran Hema Namburi as its Group Chief Financial Officer. This leadership change marks a strategic move toward financial discipline as the ad-tech unicorn prepares for a public market debut with an estimated valuation of $4 billion to $5 billion. Investors are focused on the company's corporate governance and its complex move to shift its headquarters to India.

InMobi has appointed Hema Namburi as its Group Chief Financial Officer, effective November 5, 2026. Namburi, an industry veteran who has spent over 14 years at InMobi across two stints, most recently served as the company’s Global Financial Controller. This promotion arrives as the Bengaluru-based advertising technology firm advances its plans for a highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO).

The company is reportedly targeting a valuation in the $4 billion to $5 billion range for its market debut. To manage this process, InMobi has engaged several investment banks, including JPMorgan, Jefferies, Kotak Mahindra Capital, and Axis Capital. For investors, this leadership appointment signals a strategic pivot toward heightened financial governance, regulatory compliance, and fiscal discipline—elements that are critical for winning the confidence of public market investors.

While InMobi remains a private company, its financial structure is under close observation as it scales its core ad-tech business and its Glance lock-screen content platform. In December 2025, the company secured $350 million in debt financing from Mars Growth Capital, indicating its need to manage capital effectively. Namburi’s background, which includes experience in statutory audits, internal controls at KPMG India, and financial planning at Infosys, will be essential as the firm prepares to disclose its financials to the public.

Despite the growth prospects, investors should be aware of several material risks. One of the primary challenges is the company’s ongoing 'reverse flip' process, which involves redomiciling its parent entity from Singapore to India. This legal and corporate restructuring is a complex hurdle that must be cleared to list on Indian stock exchanges. Any delay in this process could impact the IPO timeline.

Furthermore, InMobi faces significant geographic dependency risk, as a large portion of its revenue is generated in North American markets. Fluctuations in advertising demand or regulatory changes in these regions could impact its earnings. The competitive landscape for mobile advertising and AI-driven content is also intense, requiring the company to maintain high levels of investment to protect its market share.

The next important update for investors will be the filing of the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with market regulators. This document will provide the first public, verified look at the company's profitability, debt levels, and business viability. Observers will also track the progress of the company's redomiciling efforts, as this remains a key prerequisite for a successful domestic listing.
