HGS (India) IPO Closes With 247x Subscription Demand

HGS (India) Limited’s IPO ended with an overwhelming 247.12 times subscription. The company, which raised ₹34.56 crore for machinery and infrastructure upgrades at its Manesar plant, is scheduled to debut on the NSE SME platform on November 6.

The initial public offering of New Delhi-based HGS (India) Limited concluded on November 3, 2026, receiving strong investor interest. The issue was subscribed 247.12 times, with significant participation across all investor categories. Non-institutional investors led the bidding, recording 424.65 times coverage, while retail investors subscribed 232.80 times and institutional investors reached 137.92 times their allotted quotas.

The company raised ₹34.56 crore through the issue, comprising a fresh issue of ₹27.91 crore and an offer for sale of ₹6.65 crore. With the subscription process complete, the shares are set to list on the NSE Emerge platform on November 6, 2026.

Utilization of Funds and Growth Plans

HGS (India) intends to use the capital to strengthen its manufacturing base and production capabilities. A significant allocation of ₹15.04 crore is earmarked for replacing plant and machinery at the company’s Manesar, Gurugram facility. The company is also investing ₹3.26 crore in building infrastructure and ₹1.05 crore toward backward integration by establishing an in-house gold plating facility. These upgrades aim to enhance the production of its core product offerings, which include geophones, seismic cables, and specialized geophysical connectors used in oil, gas, and defense research.

Financial Context and Risks

Investors looking at the financials will note a mixed performance for the fiscal year ended March 2026. While the company reported a net profit of ₹11.64 crore, operational revenue contracted by 8% to ₹45.16 crore, down from ₹49.1 crore in the previous year. This indicates that while the company managed to improve its bottom line, the top-line growth faced challenges that the market will monitor post-listing.

Beyond financial figures, potential shareholders should consider the specific operational risks outlined in the company's disclosures. HGS (India) has a high dependence on export markets, which makes its revenue sensitive to fluctuations in global demand, changes in foreign exchange rates, and international trade regulations. Additionally, the company relies significantly on imported raw materials, introducing supply chain and cost management risks. As with many SME IPOs, investors should also be aware of the inherent risks, including lower market liquidity and potential stock price volatility after the listing.

The next milestone for the company will be its stock market debut on November 6. Following the listing, investors will likely track management's ability to execute the planned facility upgrades and whether these investments help return the company to revenue growth in the coming quarters.
