HD Fire Protect IPO Subscribed 7 Times on Second Day

The HD Fire Protect initial public offering saw strong demand on its second day, reaching 7.24 times subscription. While investors are showing interest, the issue is entirely an offer for sale, meaning the company will not receive any proceeds from this share sale.

The initial public offering (IPO) of HD Fire Protect continued to attract significant attention on October 14, 2026, reaching a subscription level of 7.24 times by the second day of bidding. The company is looking to raise approximately ₹712.31 crore through this public issue, with the subscription window set to close on October 15, 2026.

Investors have shown strong interest, particularly in the non-institutional category. The price band for the shares has been fixed between ₹258 and ₹271, with a minimum lot size of 55 shares. This means retail investors must apply for at least 55 shares, amounting to a minimum investment of ₹14,905 at the upper price band.

Understanding the IPO Structure

It is important for potential investors to note that this IPO is structured entirely as an 'Offer for Sale' (OFS). In this setup, existing shareholders—specifically the promoters, Harish Narshi Dharamshi and Kusum Dharamshi—are selling a portion of their current holdings to the public.

Because the issue is 100% an offer for sale, the company itself will not receive any money from the funds raised. This differs from a 'fresh issue,' where a company raises capital to fund new factories, expand its business, or pay off debt. In this case, the proceeds go directly to the selling promoters after accounting for the costs of the IPO.

Financial and Business Context

HD Fire Protect has reported profit after tax of ₹116.79 crore for the financial year ending March 2026, on revenue of ₹505.12 crore. For the June 2026 quarter, the company reported a profit of ₹23.8 crore on revenue of ₹109 crore.

When evaluating such companies, investors often look at how consistent these profit margins are and whether the company can maintain its growth in both domestic and international markets. As the company operates in the competitive fire protection sector, future performance will depend on its ability to win new orders and manage input costs effectively.

Risks and Monitorables

While the current subscription numbers suggest market interest, investors should be aware that grey market premiums (GMP) are unofficial indicators and do not guarantee how the stock will perform on the listing day. Additionally, the broader market sentiment can influence listing-day performance regardless of the subscription status.

Given that no capital is entering the company's balance sheet through this IPO, investors should focus on the company's existing debt levels, cash flow management, and its ability to fund future growth through its own operations.

The final allotment of shares is expected to be finalized on October 16, 2026, with the shares tentatively scheduled to debut on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE on October 21, 2026. The book-running lead managers for the issue are Ambit, Anand Rathi Advisors, and IIFL Capital Services.
