German Green Steel IPO Opens Today at Rs 132-139 Per Share

German Green Steel and Power launched its Rs 303.9 crore IPO today, with bidding open from September 25 to September 29, 2026. The company intends to use the funds for expanding its Gujarat facility and repaying debt. Investors should evaluate business risks such as high client concentration and raw material price volatility before applying.

The German Green Steel and Power initial public offering (IPO) is now open for subscription, with the company aiming to raise Rs 303.9 crore. The issue, which is open from September 25 to September 29, 2026, is priced in the band of Rs 132 to Rs 139 per share. Retail investors looking to apply will need to bid for at least one lot of 107 shares, requiring a minimum investment of Rs 14,873 at the upper price band.

Expansion and Debt Reduction Plans

The company plans to use the majority of the money raised, which includes a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 290 crore, to fund the expansion of its manufacturing unit in Samakhiyali, Gujarat. A portion of the funds is also set aside for reducing the company’s debt load. Additionally, the management is looking to diversify by investing in hybrid wind and solar energy infrastructure, which they hope will help stabilize long-term power costs for their operations.

Financial Performance and Growth

Financial records indicate a period of growth for the company, with revenue rising to Rs 1,679 crore in the fiscal year ending 2026, compared to Rs 1,129.8 crore in the fiscal year 2024. Profit after tax reached Rs 79.9 crore in the latest fiscal year. While these numbers show a positive trend, the company operates in the steel sector, which is known for cyclical ups and downs that can affect profitability. The business has also secured a contract manufacturing tie-up with JSW One Distribution, which is a key part of its growth strategy.

Business Risks and Valuation

Investors should look closely at certain structural risks identified in the company's profile. More than 50% of the total revenue comes from its top 10 clients, which creates a high dependency on a small number of customers. Furthermore, the company relies heavily on a third-party dealer network for sales and is exposed to the volatility of raw material prices, which can put pressure on profit margins. In terms of valuation, the stock is being offered at 13.1x price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple and 8.2x EV/EBITDA based on FY26 data. While some analysts, such as those from Anand Rathi, have assigned a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating, potential investors must weigh these fundamental factors against the risks of supply chain dependence and sector-wide volatility. The final decision should factor in the company’s ability to manage its debt and execute its expansion projects without cost overruns.
