Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO Closes With 2x Subscription

Bonfiglioli Transmissions India's Rs 2,533-crore IPO closed with a subscription of just over two times on its final day. The issue is entirely an offer for sale, meaning proceeds go to the promoter rather than the company. Investors are now awaiting the share allotment on October 21 ahead of the October 23 listing.

The public offering of Bonfiglioli Transmissions India has officially closed, reaching a subscription level of just over two times on its final day. The Rs 2,533.6-crore issue saw interest from various investor segments, with non-institutional investors leading the demand at 5.58 times, while retail investors subscribed 1.61 times.

It is important for investors to note that this IPO is structured entirely as an offer for sale. This means the entire amount raised will go to the existing promoter, the Italian parent company Bonfiglioli S.p.A, rather than being used for new capital projects or expanding capacity within the Indian subsidiary.

The company’s latest financial data for the half-year ending June 2026 shows steady growth. Profit grew by 29.2 percent to Rs 148.6 crore, compared to the same period in the previous year. Revenue from operations also saw an increase of 17.9 percent, reaching Rs 1,131.9 crore. These figures highlight the company's operational performance, which has been a point of interest for institutional participants during the bidding process.

With the bidding window now closed, the focus shifts to the allotment of shares, which is expected by October 21. Shareholders can look forward to the stock market debut, scheduled for October 23. The shares were offered at a price band of Rs 558 to Rs 586 per share, with a minimum investment requirement of Rs 14,650 for a lot of 25 shares. While unofficial grey market data has suggested a premium, investors should rely on official listing updates rather than speculative trading trends, as grey market activity is unregulated.
