Investors will know their allotment status for the Rs 301.62 crore Behari Lal Engineering IPO today, August 17. The public issue saw strong demand, closing with a subscription of 108.44 times. Shares are scheduled to list on the BSE and NSE on August 19.
Investors awaiting the allotment status of Behari Lal Engineering’s recent public offer will get clarity today, August 17, 2026. The company’s Rs 301.62 crore initial public offering concluded on August 14 with a very high level of investor interest.
The issue was subscribed 108.44 times in total. Demand was particularly high from Qualified Institutional Buyers and Non-Institutional Investors, both of which subscribed over 165 times. Retail investors also showed significant interest, subscribing 53.27 times to their reserved portion.
With the allotment process now underway, the company is set to list its shares on the BSE and NSE on August 19, 2026. Ahead of the debut, the stock is showing a grey market premium of approximately Rs 84, suggesting a potential listing gain of about 30% over the upper price band of Rs 285. However, investors should remember that grey market premiums are unofficial and volatile, and they do not guarantee the stock's actual performance on listing day.
Behari Lal Engineering plans to use Rs 93 crore from the fresh issue to expand its manufacturing capabilities. This includes purchasing and installing new machinery and rooftop solar equipment at its Punjab production facilities. A smaller portion of the proceeds, Rs 57 lakh, is marked for debt reduction, which may help improve the company's financial balance slightly.
While the subscription figures show high interest, investors should be aware of certain risks inherent in the business. The company’s operations are currently concentrated in a single geographic region in Punjab. This creates a geographic concentration risk where any disruption in that specific area could impact overall production. Furthermore, the business is sensitive to price changes in raw materials like steel scrap, pig iron, and alloys. A reliance on a limited number of major clients also adds to the business risk, as the loss of any key customer could affect revenue.
The allotment process is being managed by the registrar, MUFG Intime India. Investors who applied for the IPO can verify their status by visiting the official website of the registrar or the BSE and NSE portals using their application number or PAN. The next significant update for shareholders will be the price discovery and trading activity when the shares officially list on the stock exchanges on August 19.
