Consumer appliance firm Atomberg Technologies has filed draft papers for a Rs 450 crore initial public offering. While the company reported strong revenue growth in FY26, it remains loss-making, and proceeds will be used to reduce debt and boost marketing.
Atomberg Technologies, an Indian consumer appliance manufacturer known for its energy-efficient fans, has officially submitted its draft papers to the market regulator, SEBI, for an initial public offering (IPO). The proposed IPO includes a fresh issue of shares worth up to Rs 450 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 76.5 million shares by existing investors, including firms such as A91 Partners, Temasek, and Jungle Ventures.
Financial Performance and Use of Funds
According to the company's filing, Atomberg recorded revenue from operations of Rs 1,293.77 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Despite this top-line growth, the company reported a loss of Rs 148.88 crore for the same period. The company plans to use the money raised from the fresh issue to improve its financial health and operational capabilities. Specifically, Atomberg intends to allocate Rs 90 crore toward the repayment of existing debt, Rs 150 crore for brand building and marketing initiatives, and Rs 100 crore for research and development to drive future product innovation.
Business Model and Market Presence
The company operates across two main segments. In the consumer segment, it sells products like energy-efficient fans, smart locks, water purifiers, and kitchen appliances. In the business-to-business segment, Atomberg manufactures and supplies motors and electronic components to large enterprise clients, including companies like Voltas, Godrej, and Blue Star. This dual approach allows the firm to reach both household consumers and industrial partners.
Investor Monitorables and Risks
Investors looking at the upcoming IPO may want to consider several factors that the company itself has highlighted as risks. First, the business currently has a high dependence on its fan segment, which contributes the largest share of its total revenue. Any slowdown in this category or significant changes in consumer demand could impact overall performance. Second, the consumer appliance market in India is highly competitive, with established players and smaller brands vying for market share. Sustaining growth while managing marketing costs will be a key challenge.
Furthermore, the company is still in a phase where it is posting losses. The path to profitability and the efficiency of the planned marketing spend will be important for investors to track. The company has also noted that its future performance depends on managing related-party transactions and maintaining strong supply chain operations. The timeline for the IPO and the final issue price will depend on regulatory approvals and market conditions in the coming months.
